◊ A Little History

Image Expressions by Marilyn LLC began while I was creating a Christmas gift for my parents. I wanted to preserve some of my parent’s old photos in a unique gift that would allow them to see many different pictures without hanging them on the wall. Mom loves placemats on her table so I began the project of making four placemats with a collage of scanned old photos. It was difficult to choose what photos I would use, and it turned out that I had scanned over 200 before I was finished going through albums. Instead of undertaking the difficult task of eliminating photos, I used all the scanned photos and made twelve placemats.

They were thrilled with the gift and use a different placemat at every meal. When friends and family visit, everyone enjoys the placemats and takes pleasure in listening to stories told by my mom and dad about each photo displayed. The placemats have become the center of many conversations and many moments of family reminiscing.

I looked at the photos I scanned and realized my seven older brothers and sisters would enjoy having a copy of these magnificent old photos. I made a CD for each of them so they could enjoy sharing our parent’s history with their families. And so it began...Image Expressions by Marilyn LLC.

I have a passion for photos, both old and new, and believe in the preservation of these photos. Photos tell a story, and when I restore a damaged photo, it feels like I bring a story in history back to life. I make it possible for your children, grandchildren, and even your great-grandchildren to pass on these stories through photos you preserved for them.
